What a lesson looks like
Lessons are 30 minutes, once a week, by video call at home.
One hand at a time
Pieces are learned hands separately first, so even 3- and 4-year-olds can get started easily.
Learning by ear
Your child listens to the Suzuki recordings every day and learns pieces by ear before reading music.
You learn alongside
You join every lesson beside your child, and the teacher shows you exactly how to guide practice. No musical background needed.
Little and often
Short practice most days, plus daily listening, makes the biggest difference.
What you need at home
A piano that responds like a real one: an acoustic piano, or a digital piano with hammer-action keys. A basic keyboard isn't suitable.
A laptop or tablet with a camera, placed so the teacher can see your child's hands.
A steady internet connection.
The right seat height, and a footstool for small children. See our piano setup guide.

Meet the piano teachers
All our piano teachers are registered Suzuki teachers who teach online and take children from age 3. Because they live in different parts of the world, we can offer a wide range of lesson times to suit families in most countries.
Katherine Waggoner
Katherine began Suzuki piano lessons herself at age four, so she knows the method from the child's side of the piano as well as the teacher's.

What families say
We had a great first lesson with Christine. She was excellent at engaging Natalie and guiding her forward, and Natalie even played the piano with her, which was a relief for me given how slow she can be to warm up.
