Katie Suzuki Music LtdPrivacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Katie Suzuki Music Ltd is a New Zealand company offering online Suzuki piano and violin lessons. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who can see it, and how you can access or correct it. We follow New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020.

Enquiries and free intro chats

When you send us a question through our contact form, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address and information about your child. We use these only to reply to you and to help find a suitable teacher and lesson time.

When you book a free intro chat, your booking is made through My Music Staff, the system we use to manage lessons. The details you enter go straight into My Music Staff so we can arrange your chat.

Our teachers live in different countries, so your enquiry or booking details may be seen by a teacher outside New Zealand. Only the people who need your details to arrange your chat or lessons can see them, and they may only use them for that purpose.

We keep enquiry and booking details only for as long as we need them to help you, or to keep a record of our contact with you.

Families who enrol

If you decide to start lessons, our Lesson Recording & Privacy Policy explains what we collect at enrolment, how lessons are recorded and stored, and your rights. You'll see it before you sign up.

Shop orders

When you buy something from our shop, we collect your name, email address and billing details, plus a postal address if we need to post something to you. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card details. We use your order details only to deliver your order and keep our business records.

Website analytics

We use the following tools to understand how visitors use our website, so we can make it easier for families to find what they need:

  • Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics count visits and show which pages are viewed.
  • Google Ads measures whether people who click our ads go on to book a free chat or send us a question.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move around our pages, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movements, and creates heatmaps and session replays. Clarity automatically hides text typed into forms, so we never see your personal details in these recordings.

These tools may use cookies and collect information such as your device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. The data is collected and stored by Google, Plausible and Microsoft. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Our Cookie Policy has more detail about cookies.

Services we use

We use trusted service providers to run the studio, including My Music Staff (lesson bookings and billing), Stripe (payments), Google Workspace (email and lessons) and ClickUp (organising enquiries). They hold information on our behalf and only use it to provide their service to us. Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand.

We will never sell, rent or lease your personal information.

Children's information

Our students are children, so most information about a child is given to us by their parent or caregiver. If you think a child has given us personal information without a parent's knowledge, please contact us and we will remove it.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure, but if a privacy breach happens we will respond promptly and meet our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you or your child, and ask us to correct it if you think it is wrong. To make a request, or if you have any questions about this policy, please contact us using the contact form.
